Nightmare in Dallas
Published in Hardcover by Starburst Publishers (September, 1994)
Authors: Beverly Oliver and Coke Buchanan
Average review score:

A book written by a fame hungry liar
Beverly Oliver was not in Dealy plaza during Kennedy's assassination, and is perhaps the biggest liar alive today.

She cannot support any of her contentions about being a witness and her book is just an example of the two adages- "A fool and his money are soon parted" (this is you if you buy this piece of tripe), and "There is a sucker born every minute."

Beverly Oliver waited over ten years to spring her preposterous story on the public and the thing is so shot full of holes that you could sail a ship through some of them. Save your money!

first hand account on...............
not only what happened in Dealey Plaza, but also what took place backstage.

here's the juicy stuff........

Mrs. Oliver not only knew Jack Ruby, (she worked for him), but she also claims that Ruby knew Oswald. Beverely comes out in the movie JFK. she is interviewed and then says she won't testify. in real life, she didn't speak with Garrison, but she did know Ruby and Oswald.

Beverely Oliver, aka The Babushka Lady, was present in Dealey Plaza the day JFK was shot. we know this throught over dozens and dozens of photos taken that day. in the photos taken that day, one of which is the front cover of the book, shows her taking film of the JFK assassination. a couple of days after the killing, the film was taken by an FBI man. she identified that man as FBI Agent Reggis Kennedy, who denied it.

Thirdly, and most importantly is that she knows who killed JFK, and it wasn't Oswald. i want to say, but i can't. read this book.
she says exaclty who killed JFK and who the shooter was, because she knew him, and he knew her.

good luck.
good book.

a good book. basically, a first hand interview.....
with the Lady who not only was present in Dealey Plaza on November 22, 1963, but the very person who knew Jack Ruby.

she came out in the movie JFK. the girl at the Carousel Club. but anyway, Mrs. Oliver's book is very interesting. She talks about...........okay, i don't want to ruin the book for you. go and check it out in the Library or buy it. you won't be dissapointed.

The Prostate Miracle: New Natural Therapies That Can Save Your Life
Published in Paperback by Kensington Pub Corp (September, 2000)
Authors: Jesse A. Stoff and Dallas, Phd Clouatre
Average review score:

Follow-up To My Review Of September 15, 2001.
The authors describe a comprehensive approach to the treatment of prostate cancer. Much emphasis is placed on the importance of PC SPES as a necessary ingredient in a multi-faceted attack on the disease.

Unfortunately the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) warned consumers last year to cease taking PC SPES because it contained undeclared prescription drug ingredients. The manufacturer of the product has since gone out of business.

Although THE PROSTATE MIRACLE includes much useful information, the apparent demise of PC SPES seems to greatly diminish the usefulness of this book.

Almost Too Much Information
Jesse Stoff describes a broad approach to the treatment of prostate cancer. In fact, it is the most comprehensive prescription for an alternative treatment of prostate cancer that I have ever encountered. The main ingredient emphasized is PC SPES but that is not viewed so much as a 'silver bullet' as it is a necessary part of a multi-faceted attack on the disease.
Stoff writes from the perspective of one who personally treats prostate cancer patients in his medical practice. If this book has a weakness, it is that the reader is given so much information it may lead to some confusion.

The Prostate Miracle should be the Prostate Cancer Cure
Dr. Jesse Stoff does an outstanding job writing this book. I've had friends that have been patients of Dr. Stoff and they are all in remission or on the road to health. The unique thing about this book is that it gives the exact protocals of what he does in his practice, what products, therapies, stress management, etc. In fact this book could be used for anyone with any type of cancer, weakened immune system or auto-immune system problem. The only time it wouldn't involve any type of health concern is Chapter 8 since it relates to the male hormone.

I have been in the nutrition industry for 10 years now and am the Wellness Director and Nutriceutical Specialist for The Institute of Anti-Aging and Longevity, and this is the first time I have read a book that lists a balance of therapies, not a magic bullet, that will help the body heal itself if given the right nutrients and the elimination of stress and toxins. I am happy to see the the emphasis of PC SPES and AIDBCWE (or AiE10) as part of the therapy for prostate cancer. These little known substances have shown great promise in the treatment of cancer. We offer the AIDBCWE/AiE10 from Body Wise as mentioned in the book, and it definitely increases the activity of Natural Killer Cells designed to take out malignant cells.

The other unique thing about the book is that Dr. Stoff lists all the sources of where to get products and the laboratories he uses for diagnostics. This is a valuable asset.

My favorite Chapters are 6 and 7 because it relates to how the body can heal itself if the immune system is intact. Dr. Stoff's motto, "Learn how to get well and stay well" is what this book is all about. I highly recommend this book, his therapies and becoming a patient of Dr. Stoff if necessary. Dr. Stoff is one of God's miracles on the planet in helping people become well.

We host lectures with Dr. Stoff with our institution on a regular basis, if anyone would like to attend a live lecture or live educational conference call with Dr. Jesse Stoff, just email me.

Five Days in Dallas
Published in Paperback by Xlibris Corporation (May, 2003)
Author: Mark Fadden
Average review score:

This would make a great movie!
I got the book on Tuesday and finished it Wednesday night. I'm one of those people who read a book until it is done, ignoring all else (if it's good). I thought it was great. I think it would make a great movie! I hope Mark is working on a sequel. I wasn't able to guess who the bad guy was which made it all the more interesting.

The Devil is in the Details
With this first novel, Mark has introduced the amazingly complex detective, Danny Cavanaugh, in a highly descriptive tale involving murder, money, something like madness. I loved the setting in Dallas, not only because I am native Texan, but also because he takes everything we love and hate about Dallas and weaves those elements into the story. I must admit that once I got to the last 100 pages, I thought I had the ending figured out. I was wrong. Let me just say, don't start the last part of the book until you have the time to finish it, because you won't put it down!

I truly look forward to learning more about Danny Cavanaugh and seeing more of Mark's writing.

Twists and Turns
Mark Fadden's book Five Days In Dallas keeps the reader hopping throughout the book. Just when you think you have figured out "who done it" a new twist is revealed that takes you in another direction. The reader is pulled into the world of Detective Danny Cavanaugh from the very beginning of the book until the end. Mark Fadden's descriptive narration and character development is so detailed that once you start reading you will not want to put the book down. Enjoy...!!

Sammy: Dallas Detective
Published in Paperback by Vital Issues Press (June, 1997)
Author: Robin Hardy
Average review score:

Sammy: Dallas Detective-- Back Cover
"Sammy Kidman is a brash, good-looking undercover narcotics detective who achieves his outstanding conviction rate with no regard for the impact of his actions on anyone else unfortunate enough to cross his path. In a dangerous undercover scheme, he smoothly solicits the help of naive apartment-house neighbor, Marni Taylor.
Through Marni's unrelenting love and passionate prayers, the God he has always ignored steps in to save Sammy's life. Redeemed, the aggressive detective tries his best to walk upright in the modern Babylon of Dallas, Texas."
This story starts out wonderfully, with a can't bear to put it down plot. However, halfway through the book, Miss Hardy loses it. The story becomes routine and boring and the ending is almost too much for even fiction. Overall, a good book, but Miss Hardy has done better.

Over the top, but fun
I get the idea that this book is something of a departure for Hardy, but she's obviously having fun with it. Sammy is this Dallas cop with an attitude who finds God and tries to walk the straight and narrow. Christians who are uptight about everything won't like it, and people who don't believe that God can do anything won't like it, but most other poeple would find it worth reading.

Charismatic Cop v. Stubborn Savior
The world's most lovable jerk with a smile to dazzle any woman (eat your heart out, Gilderoy!) has just discovered the one assignment he can't get away from...the persistence of the love of a personal Savior. Sammy: Dallas Detective is the first book in the series that hilariously and fondly follows Sammy's attempts to live his faith despite his profession, his surroundings, and his own ghosts of the past.

Sammy's pre-, conversion, and post-conversion experiences are wrought with the realism of modern-day spiritual warfare in the midst of a world with its eyes closed and a church that is sometimes blinded. However, Mrs. Hardy unceasingly points to the goodness of God's plan throughout Sammy: Dallas Detective, Sammy: Women Troubles, and the other uproarious sequels.

Once again, Mrs. Hardy does not disappoint as she launches into a modern-day setting with her consistently inspired stories. If only the VIP cover did the book more justice....

JFK First Day Evidence: Stored Away for 30 Years in an Old Briefcase, New Evidence Is Now Revealed by Former Dallas Police Crime Lab Detective R.W.
Published in Hardcover by Shoppe Pr (December, 1993)
Authors: Gary Savage and Mona A. Oliver
Average review score:

Fuel for the Fire
Gary Savage has added new fuel to the fire with this publication. In addition to the great photos, many previously unseen, the folks who "hit the ground running" on 11/22/63 add new insight into the type of character Lee Harvey Oswald was. I particularly enjoyed some of the "in passing" things that were said about Oswald (i.e., hair pulling, flippant attitude, etc.) after his arrest and have since added them to my own Oswald file for future reference. It appears that the DPD did have enough physical evidence to secure a conviction, but I'm sure the conspiracy theorists will beg to differ. All in all, JFK FIRST DAY EVIDENCE is an excellent reference and sort of vindicates the work of the DPD, even though their work became tarnished when they threw Oswald to the wolves that Sunday morning.

Primary Evidence - The Best Kind?
Evidence gathered within hours or shortly after a crime is committed is the most reliable. Physical evidence, eyewitness statements, and the recollections of investigating police all go toward the overall "brief of evidence" which determines whether a matter is to go to Court or if further investigation is required. Gary Savage shows us this "First Day Evidence" - not tainted by time, memory loss or fabrication. The evidence from the Book Depository as it was collected on 22 November 1963 is presented in a clear, concise and chronological way. Along with many photographs not previously published and taken by Dallas Police as a result of their evidence gathering, this is an excellent book that dispels the myths that have been perpetuated over the past 3 decades, and shows that had Oswald not been shot by Jack Ruby - that the Dallas police had more than enough evidence to have Oswald convicted "beyond a reasonable doubt" in any trial that would have been forthcoming.

King of the Cowboys: The Life and Times of Jerry Jones
Published in Hardcover by Adams Media Corporation (August, 1995)
Author: Jim Dent
Average review score:

More like a long magazine article than a book
This is not a bad book and I certainly recommend it for Dallas Cowboy fans or Jerry Jones fans, if there are any. But, it seemed to me to be more like a really long magazine article than a good book. That may largely be because it is written in the mid 1990's and lots of things have happened since that really belong in a book about Jones' life.

Overall it is a pretty good read and informative, but I found myself making an effort to finish it rather than having to make an effort to put it down. Dent's book about the Junction boys and Bear Bryant is a much better effort and one that was written at a better time - afterwards rather than during the story. That one was hard to put down.

Great book - I am in it!!
Jim Dent spent many years studying Jerry Jones and what he is about as a human, team owner and businessman. I personally was featured in this book after I attempted to interview Jerry. Jim Dent wrote it exactly like it happened!!

Konigun Ninjutsu Training Manual
Published in Paperback by Kage Do Publications (08 January, 2002)
Author: Bryce Dallas
Average review score:

Better than average, but more average than good
Shidoshi Bryce Dallas undoubtedly has a lot of experience, which he transmits in this book. The text by itself, no doubt, is excellent, but the illustrations/pictures are simply lacking. There is no breakdown of techniques except in the first few pages. You must have previous experience of Ninjutsu to use this book, which is intented solely for the purpose of reference (which the author states in the first few pages). Do not buy this book unless you are very familiar with martial arts terminology, for even if there is a glossary in the end of the book, it refers mainly to things that aren't even in the book. Overall, I think that this book could have been made excellent if it had more illustrations, and if it an effort had been made to translate more japanese words.

New and Improved
I have received both an older and a newer version of this title and have been extremely impressed with the second edition. I agree the first volume could have used more illustrations, but the second revision has just that. MUCH MUCH more illustrations. The book goes in depth on the many techniques performed in this very interesting style and yes it is ment to be a guide-line or reference for students, but the step by step directions make is a little easier for the beginner to understand. It is not intended to be an instructional tool, only a supplement to your training. This volume goes through 4th degree black belt and includes everything from acrobatics to weapons training.
I have attended many classes and camps with the Ninjutsu Meiyo-Kai under Shidoshi Bryce Dallas and he is a very intelligent man with great knowledge of the martial arts and great skill to acompany it. There are many Black Belts with his style, located in different states in the North American area; all of which possess good skills and personable character. Throughout my training with Konigun Ninjutsu I have always felt at home and treated fairly. I trained with Shidoshi Dallas in Clinton and Byram MS and I never recall him just teaching close friends or relatives. He rarely hung out with but a few of his black belts but yes we did train outside from time to time. In his history he has been known to open schools and then close them a few months later to determine who the serious students were so he would know who to devote time to. Im sorry the person who left a review did not stick around long enough find this out.
I love the book, especially the revised edition and I hope you will give it a try.

Lost and Found
Published in Audio Cassette by Brilliance Audio (November, 1999)
Authors: Dallas Schulze and Laural Merlington
Average review score:

Lost and Found
Lost and Found wasn't one of Dallas Schulze's best works, but it was entertaining. The relationship between Babs and Sam was enough to keep me interested in this book.

I wish they had also made an unabridged audio recording!
I listened to the audio cassette recording and I liked it very much and personally found it to be a keeper and will probably look for the paperback book as well. A wealthy woman named Babs is kidnapped and she is rescued by a guy named Sam who at first thinks that she is a spoiled brat but soon realizes that his opinion is very wrong and that she is a very brave woman especially after finding out the truth of why she was kidnapped and who is responsible for that and trying to kill them as they go on the run to keep Babs safe and to figure out what the heck is going on. I will definitely be listening to this one again!

Unforgiven Sins

Authors: Joe Dallas and Joe Dallan

Average
The whole story starts when Greg Bishop, a psychologist, gets a phone call from Joshua Ferguson, the host of a weekly series, in the middle of the night. The next day Bishop finds out that Ferguson committed suicide but before he sent a letter and a video tape to Bishop's office. The video is about Ferguson's last piece of work, a research on the gay rights movement but before Bishop can watch the whole tape someone steals it. So the question is what did Ferguson find out before he died? And it's not only Greg Bishop, there are many other persons who are interested in the tape.

Actually this is a very interesting plot. The author also manages to keep the tension through the whole book. Piece by piece he reveals more and more what the tape is about till the end of the book. The only problem is that there are far too many characters. I often had to turn back the pages to see who is who. The writer is very well informed on the topic and tries to reveal all different aspects but unfortunatly this leeds to all different shapes of characters. From "bad" gays to "good" gays over "don't want to be" and former gays. Same with the Christians in the book. There are "good" and "bad" ones and all different sorts inbetween. At the end when a racist group of children and grandchildren of former Ku-Klux-Klan members (in this group they are all "bad") appears on the scene it's too much. So the story is good and if you are interested in the topic you will find new aspects to think about. The end is surprising (almost too surprising) but too many and all sorts of characters aren't helpfull. I've red better and I've red worse books. I don't regret spending time on reading it but I won't read it again.

A Page Turner
I found this book on of the most intriguing stories i have read in a long time. I read it from start to finish without putting it down. There are a lot of surprises as the story unfolds. The characters are well written, with a compassionate and eye opening look at their struggles. I would urge any christian who wonders about the homosexual lifestyle to read this book. Not only is it a great page turner with a great plot, it is a touching story that will bring you to tears before your done.

Whispers of Romance, Threats of Death
Published in Hardcover by New Horizon Press (March, 2002)
Authors: Carol Cook and Ted Schwarz
Average review score:

A MAELSTROM OF DECEIT
My wife chose this book and I read it aloud to her. This would be considered true crime, however, any suspense is non-existant as the author only talks about one suspect and no others so you know from page 5 who the culprit is. If others were mentioned as to rape suspects and a little bit of history given to others, then it might have been more interesting.

The interesting part of the whole story is how the culprit leads two different and distinct lives for a period of time and then how his personality begins disintegrating toward the end and the ruse used to get a confession out. The major victim is given a roller coaster ride that is heartbreaking.

A compelling story
Collaboratively written by Carol Bryan Cook (artist, poet, and spokesperson for Victims Outreach, an organization providing grief and trauma counseling to crime victims) and true crime expert and author Ted Schwarz, Whispers Of Romance, Threats Of Death is the true and personal story of Carol Cook who moved to Dallas, Texas in order to be near her three daughters when she was attacked and raped and threatened with being killed by a stranger in a ski mask who broke into her luxury condominium. Not long after this horrific event, Carol met Gilbert Escobedo, who befriended her, helped her regain control of her life, and then went on to become her business partner and lover. Self-made business success, generous with his money, giving thanks to God every week in church, friendly with members of the Dallas Police Force, Gilbert Escobedo even rode along with law enforcement personnel in pursuit of Dallas' most dangerous serial rapist. No one knew that loyal, friendly, gallant, religious, helpful, kind, and tender Gilbert Escobedo was also the wily, elusive, brutal Ski Mask rapist. Whispers Of Romance, Threats Of Death is a compelling story and highly recommended reading.
